Our goal is to lighten up the page a bit. The color scheme that you see here is just temporary until the final scheme is determined.

Lyricalsmelter.com is looking for a new main logo for the main page. If you are a graphic artist and want to contribute to the site. Please send me a private message. It would be fun if we could have a vote on the design!

Kaptain K - Feature DJ (December 2007)

Kirk Parsons, a.k.a. KaptainK, grew up in Gambo, Newfoundland. At the age of 18 he left to attend university in Ontario, where he was introduced to electronic music and DJing. After practicing and etching out his technique on his own for a year, he was booked in Thunder Bay, Ontario. That was back in 1997. From 1997 until 2002 he played most of the major events around the Thunder Bay area, focusing mostly on Techno and Tech-House.
By the end of 2002 he had moved to Seoul, South Korea to teach English by day, and DJ by night. Since his arrival, he has played in every major city and club in the country. During his days as a DJ, he has played along side the likes of Above and Beyond, Infusion, Big League Chu, Tryptomene, Kai, George Acosta, Madame Mercury, Oriental Funk Stew, Czech, and DJ SOS, to mention a few.
But no matter where he ends up in the world, his roots remain in Newfoundland, and he aims to bring back the experience the world has taught him every trip home.

10 years has past since "Shank" has found this
music that has became a way of life...It wasnt too long after that, he
picked his first set of turntables and the rest is history. After being
a bedroom DJ for years he slowly started to play a few shows here and there in the area affectionately known as the T-dot where he spent 12 years of his life and well the other half, in the place he calls home... back on the ROCK aka
NFLD.

About 4 years has past since he relocted from T-dot to St. johns
and a lot has gone down...He met up with the one known as Mr. Low and
the LowShank was born. The duo were known for doing a number of shows rinsing out 4 decks and 3
mixers including the infamous 2006 New Years battle royal in Halifax and the epic saturday nights every week @ Chill, unforunity everything must come to a
end...Shawshank killed it week in week out at the 2006 Liquid Ice Dj Compition
but came up a little short when he was name the runner up...After a little break from it all, Shawshank is back rinsin' it out once again and things are on the up.....
